CBC welcomes Paul Bendor-Samuel as the speaker at all of our services this Sunday. His theme will be ‘Living as a People of Hope’. Interserve is one of the world’s largest Christian mission agencies.

Paul was brought up in Brazil and West Africa where his parents worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators. He went to medical school in Cardiff, Wales, where he met his wife Liz. They both trained as Family doctors. In 1990 they moved to North Africa where they served for 12 years with their four sons in a Christian development organisation. Initially involved in primary health, Paul spent 7 years as General Director (1995-2002). During this period they saw the range of projects broaden to include health, disability service, support for abandoned mothers and children and rural development. In 2002 they returned to the UK for a sabbatical. Liz retrained as a professional Counselor. In September 2003 Paul was appointed International Director to Interserve. Paul travels extensively, helping Christian leaders make sense of the world around them and what God is doing. He is committed to marrying the best organisational development understanding with a Biblical worldview and spirituality.
