- Pastoral Vacancy
We are seeking a minister with a passion for Jesus, a love of Scripture, a heart for worship and a call to mission, to help us develop deeper relationships within the church and meet the challenges of mission in our local community and beyond.
We currently have around 220 members, of whom many engage in ministry of varying kinds among us, elsewhere and overseas. We have a thriving children’s and youth ministry of some 200 youngsters. Despite this, and filling our Sunday morning worship space, we are looking for someone who can help us into a new phase of growth and development.
This person should have:-
- a gift for bringing scripture alive through inspired teaching
- a heart for outreach and renewal
- leadership skills
- the ability to encourage others and work well in a leadership team
- a good understanding of contemporary British culture and current trends in ministry
- a sense of humour!
Although our last full-time Pastor concluded his ministry in 2005, we have enlisted the help of Rev Dr Bob Roxburgh in a transitional ministry to prepare us for the next phase of the church’s ministry and mission.
The person appointed will be an ordained Baptist Minister (or an ordained Minister who has been baptized as a Christian believer, holds to the Baptist Union Declaration of Principle and the Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith, and is willing to become accredited by the Baptist Union of Great Britain).

- Mission to Moldova
Bob Morris first lead a team of young people in a 10 day mission to Moldova in October 2005. Bob and two other leaders visited Moldova in May 2005 (click for photo) to meet local pastors and plan the event. The purpose of the mission was for mutual encouragement and deepening of understanding between the two cultures.
There have been further visits in 2006 and 2007 with another planned for later this year!! For more information about the mission to Moldova, please contact Bob Morris.

- Halloween Light Party
Working in partnership with the other churches of the town, we held a Light Party on 31st October. We had exclusive use of the "MagicLand" complex on Chesterton Lane. The event attracted both children of church families, and those in the community. We are hoping to repeat the event this year!
