Small Groups
We believe relationships are vital in order to help Christians grow in their faith and support one another in Christian living. For this reason we encourage those who worship with us regularly to join a Small Group.
Our Small Groups meet at a variety of times and locations each week in order to encourage one another, pray and study the bible together. Often the teaching programme connects with the material being considered at either the morning or evening services on a Sunday.
The groups usually comprise between eight and twelve attendees. We have around 20 groups meeting in and around Cirencester.
If you would like more information about this, or any of the other groups below, then please contact the Church Office.
^ top ^Foundations
Becoming a Christian is the start of a new life and there is a lot to learn. The Foundations Course aims to lead participants to a fuller understanding of what Christians believe.
Jesus once told a story about two builders. The wise one built his house on rock, the foolish one built his house on sand. When the storms came, the house on rock stood firm, but the other one fell down because it had such poor foundations. Jesus said that if we hear his words and put them into practice, then, like that wise man, we will have a firm foundation for our life which will not shift when the storms come.
Foundations is a special fifteen-week course and is open to everyone. The course is suitable for new Christians, or for those who would like to refresh their understanding of what it means to be a Christian. If you're not yet a Christian, and you would like to explore Christian faith in detail, then the Foundations course may also be of interest to you.
The course is co-ordinated by one of our elders, Alan Taylor.
^ top ^Women's Fellowship
Open to ladies of all ages, the Women's Fellowship offers a time of praise, Bible study, prayer and worship. Members enjoy a varied programme of talks from a wide selection of speakers, often accompanied by a video or slides. The group also provides an opportunity for discussions about world issues and members regularly give both prayer and practical support to many organisations and societies.
Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 2.30 pm in the Church, and conclude with a time of fellowship over a cup of tea. A warm welcome awaits anyone coming to the meetings, where they will find an informal and friendly atmosphere.
^ top ^Men's Meeting
A group of men meet on the third Wednesday of the month from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm for fellowship and prayer. This is a time to get to know one another, and share experiences and concerns. We also try to extend our awareness of what is going on in the Church around the world. Occasionally we share outings together. We are mostly retired or partially retired, however all are welcome.
