Children's Ministry
Our children's ministry caters for children aged 3-13. Our Primary Department, comprising Sparklers (pre-school and reception children) and All Stars (school years 1 and 2) meet in the upstairs hall of the main building. Our Junior Department Trailblazers caters for school years 3 and 4 (Trailblazers 1) and school years 5 and 6 (Trailblazers 2). They meet in the cottages next to the Church, as do our senior group, Respect, which caters for secondary school children in school years 7 to 9.
Parents who are bringing their children to church for the first time are encouraged to introduce them to the teaching staff.
Our aim is to teach children about Christianity in a way which they can understand, and which meets their needs. Typical lessons in the primary and junior departments will consist of games and quizzes, a Bible story and some craft activity. In the senior group, the emphasis will be on discussion and group activities. We encourage children to think about the Bible stories and activities, to ask questions and to discuss ideas.
We also run a mid-week Youth Club at the Church, for 10-13 year olds.
Children's work within Cirencester Baptist Church is run in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Baptist Union of Great Britain, which aim to provide a framework for working with children which meets with all current legislative requirements and best practice. Our policy on childcare is displayed on a number of notice boards around the Church, and copies can be obtained from the Church Office.
