Children’s Ministry
“HELPING CHILDREN EXPLORE THE LOVE OF GOD”
Our vision statement above sums up what we believe our ministry to children is all about!
“Sunday’s Cool!” Our children’s ministry caters for children aged 0-11.
Our Infant Department comprises of Creche (babies and toddlers up to the age of 2) who meet in the staff room close to the main hall at Deer Park School. Parents are asked to collect their children from crèche during the last song.
Little Sparks is our latest group and they cater for children from 2 – 4 years old.
Sparklers (pre-school and reception children) and All Stars (school years 1 and 2)
Our Junior Departments are called Trailblazers (For school years 3 and 4)
Avalanche (school years 5 and 6).
Parents who are bringing their children to church for the first time are encouraged to introduce them to the teaching staff (they will all be wearing Children’s Ministry t-shirts so you should be able to see them!) and those with children in Bright Sparks, Sparklers and All Stars are requested to accompany and pick up their children to and from their rooms.
Our aim is to teach children about Christianity in a way which they can understand, and which meets their needs. Typical sessions will consist of games and quizzes, a Bible story and then relating it to the children’s lives, some craft activity and sung worship. We encourage children to think about the Bible stories and activities, to ask questions, discuss ideas and to respond to God in a variety of ways.
All Stars – Stories – click here for some wonderful illustrations from some of our All Stars of stories about Jesus.
Children’s work within Cirencester Baptist Church is run in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Baptist Union of Great Britain, which aim to provide a framework for working with children which meets with all current legislative requirements and best practice. Our policy on childcare is displayed on a number of notice boards around the Church, and copies can be obtained from the Church Office.

Messy Church
Messy Church takes place each 3rd Sunday of the month between 4 and 5pm followed by a tea at which all who come are invited to contribute sandwiches and sweets!
(See Messy Church website )
The idea is fourfold…
1) Chill (receive a warm welcome and feel at home)
2) Create (Craft Time)
3) Celebrate (Story, song and prayer)
4) Chew (eat together)
We have a NEW LOOK MESSY CHURCH COMING IN SEPTEMBER!!!
Messy church is changing and will now meet 4 times a year on a Saturday afternoon from 3 – 5pm at our Coxwell St premises.
There will be craft activities and games for an hour followed by a 30 minute celebration where we shall share stories, sing, have a quiz, see what God wants to teach us and probably get messy together! At 4:30 we’ll share tea together so please do bring along some cakes, crisps, sandwiches or the like!
