Many will have seen/read with interest this week about the Christian couple from Derby who were turned down from fostering due to their views on homosexuality.

Unfortunately, time doesn’t permit me writing all my thoughts on this subject (there are lots of them – not all fully formed) – but I’d like to point you to the excellent blog written by Church of England vicar Peter Ould on the subject. It’s a very balanced approach to it, from someone with personal experience of the subject. Check it out.

Thanks for pointing this out Matt. Peter Ould’s article is very interesting.

James 1:19-20 comes to mind :
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”

I suspect many of us were too quick to jump to opinions based on headlines rather than on facts. We must remain firm to our Christian morals, but we must always be careful to demonstrate and communicate them in a way which is not damaging to Jesus’ name in the world.

Lord – Help us to give all that we are, to become all that You want us to be.
In Your name, and for Your glory. Amen.
